Potato Storage Facility

A client, with a potato storage facility, asked Smart Fog® to build and install a series of humidification systems. Thus far, the challenge for the client had been that their facility possessed inordinate levels of silica and lead in its atmosphere. Quickly, we realized that our ES100-2 system would offer the perfect, low maintenance solution to our client’s dilemma. Also, with its ability to dispense liquids at a controlled rate, our system would provide superior humidifier systems and disease control. Not only that, it will improve safety and increase the shelf-life and quality of stored foodstuffs

 

The Facility

The facility consisted of 6 different rooms totaling 9,600 square feet. The client required a maintained temperature of 72 degrees F with a relative humidity of 50%. Our ES100-2 humidification system is capable of humidifying up to 3,000 square feet up to 99% in any condition. Therefore, two ES100 units were needed for each room. Assembling each humidification system was meticulous, painstaking work, to say the least. Each system featues a CPLC10 controller, 3 ES100PB2, 6 S1 relative humidity sensors. Also, they have an INJ-1 Smart Fog® injection system, a Zero TDS 1000 water filter system, and a pipe and fittings kit. However, with our years of assembly experience, we came prepared.

The CPLC10 controller includes a special 6 zone program, plus injection. Furthermore, the PLC control comes with a full complement of utilities. These include 4 analog inputs, 7 transistor outputs, 2 lines x 16 characters,  and STN LCD, LED backlighting. Also, HMI displays, as well as, a 24 VDC power supply are included. Furthermore, the S1 sensor boasts a relative humidity range sensitivity of 0 to 100%. The temperature sensitivity ranges from -40 to 140 degrees F, an accuracy RH of +/- 1%. Also, it responds to any atmospheric changes within 15 seconds.

The ES100-2 humidification systems have the ability to produce up to 24 lb/hr of water and capable of working in temperature ranges of 50 F or more. Also, they provide the ideal means to reduce both the silica and lead levels in our client’s water supply.
