Understanding Humidity

November 10th, 2014 by Smart Fog

Often when people think of humidity, they think of stifling summer nights where the level makes it difficult to breathe. They think of it as being something to avoid. However, the reality is that it actually has many benefits. For example, if you own a wine collection, without humidity, your wine would be in danger of aging more quickly than it should – and not in a bad way! Humidity also prevents the mucus membranes in the mouth and throat from drying out. When these areas dry out, people find themselves much more susceptible to illness.
